Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups (320 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups (300 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch (25 cm) bundt pan, making sure to coat all the crevices to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate Adding Dry Ingredients and Buttermilk:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the buttermilk in two parts, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined after each addition.
  6. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool:
    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Optional Glaze:
    • If you’d like to add a glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk or heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.

Serving:

Enjoy your brown sugar bundt cake! It’s a versatile dessert that’s perfect for any gathering or as a delightful treat with your afternoon coffee or tea.
